This is Murali Nair’s second season as the coach of the men’s club soccer team. Murali is originally from Malaysia. He moved to the United States in 1997 to pursue graduate work at the University of Virginia. Murali and his family moved to Michigan in 2001 when he obtained employment as a tenure track faculty in the School of Health Promotion and Human Performance. He is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the same school. Murali has extensive playing and coaching experience both before and after coming to the United States. While at Malaysia he both played and later coached at various levels from high school to the various national “age specific” groups. His experience in Virginia and Michigan is centered on coaching high school and premier travel teams. Murali holds a Malaysian /FIFA Advanced Coaching Certificate.
